API 1104 Pipe Welding Technology

API 1104 Pipe Welding Technology I
Our 60-hour introduction course to API 1104 Pipe Welding. Course Objectives include welding codes, welding processes, welding techniques and welding fundamentals to learn SMAW Open Root Pipe. Students will weld open root with E6010 Root Pass and E8010 Fill and Cap in the 1G position.
API 1104 Pipe Welding Technology II
The 60-hour course allows students to apply their skills learned in API 1104 Pipe Welding Technology I and apply those skills to the 2G position. Students will learn fundamentals and welding techniques to weld in the 2G Open Root Pipe Positions.
API 1104 Pipe Welding Technology III
In this 60-hour course students will learn the 5G position in Open Root Pipe Welding. Topics covered include understanding the API 1104 Code and specifications for testing. Focus of this course will be E8010 Downhill.
API 1104 Pipe Welding Technology IV
In the finishing course API 1104 Pipe Welding Technology students will learn the fundamentals and techniques to produce welds in the 6G position in the SMAW process. Following completion of the 6G position training the students will begin the testing process for API 1104. Students will conduct the Butt and Branch Test on 12-inch APIx42 Pipe. Students who successfully complete API Pipe Welding Technology IV will receive an API 1104

ASME Pipe Welding Technology

ASME Pipe Welding Technology I
This 60-hour Introduction to ASME Pipe Welding covers the different codes, standards, welding processes, techniques and fundamentals to learn ASME Open Root Pipe Welding in the SMAW process. Students will learn to weld open root with E6010 Root Pass and E7018 Fill and Cap in the 1G.
ASME Pipe Welding Technology II
The 60-hour course focuses on developing welding skills learned in ASME Welding Technology I and applying those skills to the 2G position. Students will learn welding fundamentals and different skills and techniques to make a weld in the 2G position.
ASME Pipe Welding Technology III
In this 60-hour course students will learn the 5G position in Open Root Pipe Welding to ASME standards. Students will learn about the ASME Section IX qualification process for testing welders. Students will apply this knowledge and apply it to E7018 uphill.
ASME Pipe Welding Technology IV
In the finishing course of ASME Pipe Welding Technology students will learn the fundamentals and techniques to produce welds in the 6G position. Following completion of the 6G position training the students will begin the testing process for ASME Section IX. Students will conduct a 2-inch XXH Test inn the 6G position on S 106B material. Students successfully completing the test will receive an ASME Section IX Qualification.

Structural Welding Technology

Structural Welding Technology I
Our 60-hour foundation course covers the welding processes, techniques, and fundamentals to learn Oxy-Acetylene, GMAW and SMAW. Welding will be done in the 1G (Flat) position on mild steel. Tuition includes American Welding Society (AWS) certification in the 1G position for GMAW and SMAW.
Structural Welding Technology II
This is a 60-hour skill building course that builds on Structural Welding Technology I and applies it to the 2G (Horizontal) position. Students will learn the different techniques and fundamentals to weld in the horizontal position in GMAW and SMAW process on mild steel. Tuition includes American Welding Society (AWS) certification in the 2G position for GMAW and SMAW.
Structural Welding Technology III
In this 60-hour course students will learn the 3G (Vertical) position with the GMAW and SMAW processes. Students will learn the position of vertical welding. Tuition includes American Welding Society (AWS) certification in the 3G position for GMAW and SMAW.
Structural Welding Technology IV
In the finishing course of Structural Welding Technology students will learn the fundamentals and techniques to produce welds in the 4G (Overhead) position with the GMAW and SMAW processes. This course is a culmination of the previous Structural Welding Technology courses. Tuition includes American Welding Society (AWS) certification in the 4G position for GMAW and SMAW.

Company Partnership Program

Contact hours/Calendar weeks: 80 hours/2 weeks

Course Number: LTI-BWT 250

The Company Partnership course allows students that are selected to participate in an 80-hour paid internship opportunity. Students will be assigned to an employer and monitored by Loenbro Technical Institute instructors to ensure goals and objectives are completed.
